SDM Dentures, a CADCAM process for final dentures fabrication, is the solution to eliminating long and difficult denture appointments. In just 3 short appointments a precise fitting and economical denture will be completed. At SDM Dentures we have invested in the digital workflows necessary for automated design and manufacture. As a result, dentists and patients will undergo a quick and comfortable process towards the final denture.
Appointment 1:
First, select patient trays, fit and adjust, as necessary. (size, trim, border mold) Choose a fast set impression material and use a one-step heavy/light impression technique. If the patient has an existing denture, simply reline the denture. Secondly, take a patient bite registration utilizing an SDM Denture bite tray. Thirdly, take a digital face scan with the bite tray in place or take a head shot photo. Lastly, complete the RX and submit the case to SDM Dentures.
SDM Dentures will digitize the data and merge the resulting STL files into our denture design software. We use 3shape to design the try-in denture and a 3rd party software to build support for 3D Printing. Our facility uses an FDA approved acrylic monomer resin for printing the patient’s monolithic temporary denture.
Appointment 2:
Delivery of the temporary denture. Initially, seat the denture and test for a primary fit and remove any impingement. Secondly, reline the temporary with tissue conditioner functional impression material. Allow for flow over the buccal ridge to accentuate a buccal roll. The patient must where the temporary for 1 week.
SDM Denture will scan this temporary and will copy mill or 3D Print the final denture. After fabrication and post production clean up, SDM Dentures will deliver the final within 5 days.
Appointment 3:
The SDM Dentures final will seat exactly like the 3d printed temporary. Except the definitive denture will be manufactured from FDA approved PMMA & Monomer Resin with a cosmetic appearance. These technological advances put forth through SDM Dentures, allows for a revolution in patient comfort and care. The benefits for the dentist are dramatically reduced chair time and lower material and clinical related expenses.
The functional and economical denture solution with an efficient patient experience.
